I know you are excited to get your journal and start writing, but I’d like you to pause and take a deep breath. Let me suggest five ways to journal for self-discovery.

  • Get a new journal that is specific for this purpose. This will make it easy to reference your answers and help you organise them easily.
  • Take one prompt per day for deep reflection. Take your time answering all the prompts; carefully answer each prompt to write your heart out.
  • Try journaling before you sleep or early in the morning.
  • Do not be ashamed to be vulnerable while writing. The essence of your writing is to improve yourself; therefore, give it your best.
  • Answer this prompt with the sole aim of self-development. Remember that self-discovery helps you become better, fulfil your purpose and help others.

Final thoughts

Thank you for coming this far. I’m sure you’ve learnt something. Today may be the last day of the challenge, but the journey doesn’t end today. The journey to self-discovery is not a sprint. It takes time and patience. I assume that the past ten days have been enlightening. I want to encourage you to live freely.

Make yourself a priority. At the end of the day, you’re your longest commitment.

As you discover new truths about yourself, Use each to build yourself into a man/woman who will influence the world in an extraordinary way. Maybe you’re older, and you feel that you’re not able to explore life anymore. You may want to be complacent, living life as it comes. Stop! Don’t even think about giving up on yourself. There is no time that is too old. The world is waiting to hear your story. What matters most is your ability to be resilient. You can’t give up now, especially when life has given you another opportunity.

Be strong and gear up. Use your strengths and turn your weaknesses into strengths. You are not perfect, but you have what it takes. It’s okay to be afraid, but courage is better. Launch out and see how much lies ahead. You have walked this journey to self-discovery, which must turn you in the right direction.

Anytime you’re afraid, ask yourself, “what will my children remember me for”? See you on the success side of life.

The fear you don’t face becomes your limits

That quote about making yourself a priority is so golden. Because yes, people come and go in our lives, but we will forever be with ourselves till the day we die, so it makes sense to take care of ourselves. Thanks for this post!
