Grace was delighted that she decided to seek counsel. She now understands why the scripture says
Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
Proverbs 11:14 KJV
Mrs. Faith has been Grace’s adviser for quite a while now. Grace met Mrs. Faith when she attended a Christian conference some years ago.
Grace decided to give Ayo a chance. She picked up her phone and dialed Ayo. Ayo was surprised and afraid when he saw Graces’ call; he thought she wanted to cancel the appointment. He doesn’t want to be rejected by the woman he loves so much. He gathered the courage to pick up the phone, damming the consequence.
Ayo: Hello, good morning.
Grace: Good morning. I hope you slept well?
Ayo: I slept well; thank you for asking. I’m surprised you’re calling
Grace: (smiles sheepishly) well, I wanted to be sure if we’ll still be meeting on Sunday.
Ayo: we’ll still be meeting. It was your call, and I’m at your service.
Grace: let’s meet at the mall café by 4 pm
Ayo: ok, I’m looking forward to seeing you. Have a great day
Grace: have a great day too
Ayo was elated and confident that Grace was going to agree to his proposal. He couldn’t wait for Sunday to come.
Ayo was already at the cafe by 3:30 pm. He wanted to be there when Grace walks into the café. He sat down in a corner where he could see Grace clearly when she walks into the café. At around 3:50 pm, Grace walked into the café; she didn’t want to be late. Ayo looked up and saw Grace walk into the café. She looked beautiful in the dress she wore. Ayo signaled to Grace.
Ayo: good afternoon, Grace. You look magnificent
Grace: oh, thank you. You’re not looking bad yourself.
Ayo: (shocked) thank you. (He ordered for something they could eat while they discussed)
Grace: Ayo, I don’t want to keep you in suspense. I have thought about your proposal, and I have agreed.
Ayo: (overjoyed), really! Thank you. Grace, I’m pleased you decided to give me a chance. I always thought you hate me.
Grace: I don’t hate you. I didn’t want to be heartbroken again. I’ve had a lot of bad experiences with men.
Ayo: I’ll try my best to be the best man you’ve ever met.
Ayo turned out to be the best man she has ever met indeed. Grace and Ayo got married. Ayo was not perfect, but they both complemented each other.
