Patience is expressed in unshakable confidence and trust in the Lord, even in the face of adversity and the encroachment of enemies. Several bible verses about patience serve as an anchor for us in times of trials and difficulty.
Patience is one of the virtues that God wants his children to have. Life has many tests and trials; having patience and trusting in God will guide us on the right path.

Patience is needed in different faces of life, I have divided the bible verses into different categories depending on the context of the meaning.
Bible Verses about God’s Patience
- Lamentations 3:2526
“The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”
The goodness of God is experienced by those who patiently seek Him, he will never fail those who wait for him.
- Psalm 37:2324
“The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand.” - Psalm 86:15

- Romans 12:12
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Apostle Paul is encouraging us to be patient and persistent in the place of prayer. Tribulation and trial may want to make us derail but if we give ourselves to consistent prayers during tribulations, God’s joy will fill our souls.

“The wicked watches for the righteous and seeks to put him to death. The Lord will not abandon him to his power or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial.” - Proverbs 24:16

God is telling us in this bible verse that those who wait for us shall be put to shame. They are patient in evil-doing therefore God will not allow their plans to be fulfilled. It is also a call to believers not to do evil to other people. - Psalm 37:1213

- James 5:7
“Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.”
The bible likened patience to a farmer waiting for harvest. The bible verse encourages us to wait for God’s time and never try to rush things. - Psalm 37:7
