Bible Verses about God’s Patience

  • Lamentations 3:2526
    “The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”

The goodness of God is experienced by those who patiently seek Him, he will never fail those who wait for him.

  • Psalm 37:2324
    “The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand.”
  • Psalm 86:15

  • Romans 12:12

Apostle Paul is encouraging us to be patient and persistent in the place of prayer. Tribulation and trial may want to make us derail but if we give ourselves to consistent prayers during tribulations, God’s joy will fill our souls.

  • Psalm 37:3233
    “The wicked watches for the righteous and seeks to put him to death. The Lord will not abandon him to his power or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial.”
  • Proverbs 24:16

  • James 5:7
    “Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.”
    The bible likened patience to a farmer waiting for harvest. The bible verse encourages us to wait for God’s time and never try to rush things.
  • Psalm 37:7
    “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!”
    We are encouraged to have patience rather than being enticed by the evil ones.
  • Hebrews 6:15
    “And thus Abraham, having patiently waited, obtained the promise.”
    Abraham was patient with God and he received the promised child, Isaac.
