It involves taking care of one’s body as a temple of the Holy Spirit and striving for overall health and vitality with the aim of living healthy and fulfilling God’s purpose.
Many of us struggle to prioritize self-care, healthy habits and we desire to honour God with our body and mind. It is difficult to achieve this feat because of the daily demands and rush. At Beautiful Roses Nigeria, we believe our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. God needs us to care for our bodies to fulfil his purpose and mandate. Moreover, God seeks good health for us, and we are responsible for keeping our bodies, soul and spirit together.
Some Christians do not believe in taking care of their bodies, they believe God is always there to heal them and take care of them. It is true that God is available to care for us and help us be healthy but that doesn’t mean we don’t have the responsibility of taking care of our bodies. We are stewards of our bodies and God expects us to take care of our bodies so that we can be healthy and fulfil his purpose.

The bible supports taking care of our bodies. Some biblical principles that support healthy living include honouring the body as a dwelling place of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), practicing self-control and temperance (Galatians 5:22-23), and eating and drinking to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31).
The Bible does not provide specific dietary guidelines or restrictions like modern diet plans, it does advocate for moderation, gratitude, and avoiding gluttony. It also acknowledges certain foods as clean or unclean in the Old Testament, but many of these distinctions are not binding on Christians today.
